the model

what do we see and how can it be defined

if babies can do it, then a model can certainly be created from it. But how?

Model and function:

As the next important step, a model had to be created which comprehensibly presented the possibility of intuitive reading and imitation. This model had to verify or reject the possibility of using mirror neurons. The following important points had to be considered:

  • It must be applicable without having explained anything beforehand (no constructed premises)
  • It must be able to explain every behavior of babies
  • It must explain or reject that mirror neurons play a role

The fact that children are able to do this from their first breath suggested that it must be a “pre-programmed” function of the brain, a ROM function, so to speak. On one hand that was very exciting, but also a bit confusing on the other.

Outcome:

The model made it possible to understand early childhood behavior. It made it possible to explain the physical reactions and to understand the immediate response. The steps were varied and not all led to the desired result. However, all helped to substantiate or reject a hypothesis.

  1. Mirror neurons are present from birth in higher mammals and in humans
  2. They allow us to always orient ourselves
  3. You don't need any previous knowledge

And that's how the next step was taken. Now it was only necessary to determine exactly what we were noticing.
